App Ideas

If you have an idea for an app, list it here so others can find you and join your team. 

 * Tipping Point Micro-productions: In short the idea is to enable YOU to become micro-producers of films 
   (initial focus is social issue based narratives). We would create social media toolset for filmmakers who are making 
   social issue based narrative films (e.g. Call & Response (http://www.callandresponse.com/), http://dirtthemovie.org/. 
   These filmmakers need ADVOCATES to spread the cause awareness as well as the movie. This way we are providing a fun way 
   to change the world using the context of filmmaking and we could make YOU the micro-producer of the movie. Our toolset 
   would work with the leading OpenSocial containers to help virally spread the message and the movie. The

* I have a few ideas. For example, address book for friends. I am looking for GAE/django/python experts

* Want to create a quick poll among your friends and get instantaneous feedback across all 
opensocial networks? This is like the CNN quick poll, keeping a live statistics among all
your friends, and others. Use it to summarize automatic recommendations, after a certain
amount of votes are counted in.

* Comic book Reader app for Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter that enable people to 
upload their comic work and share them with friends and fans via social sites like 
Myspace as well as websites. 

* "Doesn't taste like chicken" app.  fun/ego/adventure/edutainment/social responsibility.  After
being on the road for close to 3 years, I've come to realise that not everything tastes like 
chicken as so many people claim.  Case in point, termites taste like carrots.  Oh, just get that
squeamish look off your face! :)  This is an mapping app which allows travelers (and wanna bes) to 
input some "exotic" food item eaten, upload a photo, provide a short description, and share this 
with friends as well as 'showcasing' it on a public space.  Ultimate goal is less fluffy.  Would 
like to start a database of edible resources across the globe so people can help save each other 
from starvation.  Frequently, indigenous resources are not being used cleverly within local 
emerging markets. (Mimi Hui - can be pinged on linked in)

* Cute viral app where 2 or more people raise & nurture a virtual pet together.  The pet will be a fluffy, 
  puffy cloud that grows into various shapes, changes color, and sometimes rains.  Possibly a dating app.

* Simple idea. Mod concept to MySpace playlists (music or video) that will enable contests. Once built, I'd 
  like to contact recording labels for contest sponsorship. I'm looking for team members to build this since
  I don't code (at least , not in a long time). contact Peter Huboi if interested. 
  Note: MySpace is looking for an app to promote from this weekend. This could be it.

* Second variation of the above idea which is probably worthy of a separate team. Apply same concept to 
  YouTube playlists (video) that will enable contests or user view of web metric that illustrates

* Facebook application to aggregate playlists from multiple content sites and friends wall posts. Also, allow
  an option to datamine other playlists out of your network for possible connections if music or video is your

* A system for creating sub social networks.  My use case is say PHP.  I want to participate in groups with 
  PHP programmers.  I would rather my extreme nerdiness be mentioned all over Facebook.

* Creating map-based app with virtual currency. Connects virtual game with real places people meet, rewarding
  players for building database. Opportunity for revenue participation in vertical markets that exploit data.

* Player vs Player MMO. Game exists as a successful stand alone website. Will be porting a new instance of the 
  world to MySpace. Very exciting!

* When organizing an event or fundraising certain people need to be contacted. If you have a team of organizers,
  some of them will have overlapping contacts and it is very annoying to be contacted two or three times from
  different people for the same event. I am thinking of an open social app (primarily aimed at Linkedin) that
  would do the following: 1) Pool the contacts of all the organizers 2) Keep track of who contacted who and what

* Write Once Publish Everywhere. A simple page that updates your status to as many OpenSocial containers that we
  can add in the weekend. rev 2 would be to add a twitter plugin so your tweet ends up everywhere. This is so 
  simple that I am pretty sure someone has built it already. If you know please let me know. If not lets build it
